OUR MISSION
The Mission of Hitchcock I.S.D. “Kids First” Head Start is to provide low–income disadvantaged, preschool children and their families with the tools that will empower them to develop fulfilling, productive and satisfying lives.

School Hours
School Hours: 7:30am - 3:00pm
Extended Learning Hours (Beginning 8/26): 3:00-5:00pm
Drop-off begins at 7am, Pick-up begins at 3:00pm
Lunch: 1st Lunch is from - 10:30- 11:00am, 2nd Lunch is from 11:00 - 11:30am, 3rd Lunch is from 11:30am - 12:00pm
THE HEAD START LOGO TELLS A STORY
● The two squares represent early childhood by suggesting building blocks.
● The arrangement of the blocks represents stairs by which this can be accomplished.
● The vertical stripes represent the child and parent side by side.
● The arrow pointing upward represents the direction out of poverty and on to the future.
● The colors, red, white, and blue represent the United States and the many opportunities it provides for its citizens.

As we approach the new school year, we want to emphasize the critical importance of regular attendance. At Hitchcock ISD, we believe that consistent attendance is key to a student's academic success and overall growth. Did you know that missing just two days a month can lead to over a year of lost instruction by the time a student graduates? This year, we are committed to ensuring that every student has the opportunity to succeed by strictly enforcing state attendance laws across all campuses.

If you’ve been thinking about enrolling your child in the Kids First Head Start program, now is the perfect time! For the 2024-2025 school year, starting August 12th, the program will soon be able to officially offer extended hours from 7am to 5pm each day to accommodate working parents

Hitchcock Independent School District is excited to announce the rollout of online registration system for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. Using Skyward’s Online Registration we are able to streamline the process, making it easier and more efficient for families to register students.
